My Cheerleader Mother

May 13 - My mom was there for almost 20 years of competitive sports. Hours were spent sitting in the stands, chauffeuring me from one sport to the next, laundering dirty practice jerseys and uniforms, selling baked goods and washing cars, traveling endless miles to make it to games and tournaments and handing out hugs and kisses for countless injuries.

When I began running, it was no different.

She was there to cheer for me at my very first 5K race.

She continues to be there to celebrate my successes.

Thanks mom! Happy Mother's Day!

How will you celebrate Mother's Day?
Living 900 miles away means that I will be Skyping today!

  1. My mom supported me through tennis matches, basketball games, and now figure competitions! I love having my mom as a cheerleader - her support means the world to me!

  2. My mom was always my biggest cheerleader. She came to every single event - softball, cheering, track, basketball - you name it, she was there. I know that if she were still here, she'd be at as many races as possible.

  3. Moms are the best cheerleaders! Now that I am a Mom of two young boys, I appreciate all that my mother did for me so much more! From the cheering to the driving around to practices and games to feeding us well and bandaging up scrapes and cuts. The support is incredible.
