July has become my month of fun runs. On Sunday I will be participating in the Color Me Rad 5K in Boston.
What it is. It is all about having a good time, running with a group of friends, and trying to turn yourself into a rainbow. You start out with a nice clean white shirt and end up covered in a "tsunami of color."
What it isn't. It's not about crossing the finish line first or setting a new PR. It's not about winning prizes or even acting like a grown up.
Here's a little preview:
I am running as part of Team FitFluential and we are going to be sporting team shirts. My shirt is a work in progress at the moment.
Janine (the crafty member of the team) has already made some that look awesome.

Sometimes we just need to take a break and do something a little non-traditional.
Thanks to Jill for hosting the Fitness Friday link up!
Have you ever run as part of a team?
What are your plans for the weekend?
I'll see you on Sunday!I've got to get working on my shirt so I don't look like a turd! ;)

ReplyDeletewow my sister, friends and I were just talking about doing one of these. Looks like so much fun. Is is powder they use, Im wondering how my asthma would hold up if its powder. I cant take that into my lungs. Ill keel over. The shirts look great, and tomorrow will be my first time ever doing something with a team and Im excited...
ReplyDeleteIt's colored corn starch - not sure how that might affect you. I think you can control somewhat by where you run through the color parts and you could skip the big toss at the end.
DeleteThat looks like fun! It's nice to run for fun rather than worrying about time. I ran with a relay team a couple of months ago and had a blast. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI haven't done a relay yet. Doing RTB NH in the fall - a little nervous!
DeleteFun tshirts! Have an awesome run!
ReplyDeleteHeather W. is grabbing my bib for me - it's going to be so funn!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a lot of fun!! Enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI love those shirts! That's going to be so much fun. You're so right- we need to mix it up and do things for fun sometimes. Have a blast!
ReplyDeleteahh have fun! we just had the color run here and it was crazy! i am sure you will love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm running CMR next weekend. Can't wait! Any tips?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely wear glasses and try to keep your mouth closed when going through the color (think kids eating colored popsicles)
DeleteBring a garbage bag for "colored" clothes and a towel to wipe off/sit on in the car after.
Get there early - TONS of people at these things. If you can park somewhere other than where they are providing and walk, do it. You'll avoid massive traffic probably.
Run on the outside to get the most color tossed at you! Have fun ;)
I'm supposed to be doing the ColorMeRad in Oct. in Miami :)
ReplyDeleteYou're going to have so much fun!!
