Instead I double-dosed the sunblock and took advantage of the cloudy morning to do an hour of SUP with mrC. Once we had our boards in the water, we paddled out and back three times for today's workout.
Funny story - yesterday mrC fell off his board and lost his sunglasses. He used my goggles to try to find them but no luck. Today, he walked the beach where we had been hanging out yesterday and there they were! The tide washed them up and left them on the beach a little banged up, but good to go after he cleaned them (after I took the photo).
Our post workout snack was another yummy smoothie. I'm absolutely loving our new blender and I'm warning you now that I might be saying that a lot for awhile. Smoothies make me happy ;)
Here's my weekly workout recap (Linking up with Tricia and Holly):
Monday - Bodystep - our instructor is off to Australia for a few weeks, so I will be searching for a calorie burning replacement until she returns.
Tuesday - Ran errands in Central which tallied over 19,000+ steps for the day!
Wednesday - Ugh and a fashion show.
Thursday - Ugh again.
Friday - Run!
Saturday - Pier volunteering for USS Sterett and shoe shopping in Central.
Sunday - SUP with the Discovery Bay Ladies SUP group
The end of the week also marks the end of April, so I'm tallying my monthly miles as well today.
8 runs for 32.76 miles. That's 5.58 more miles than March, but the same number of runs! My knee is getting stronger and I can't wait to see how May goes.
Has a sunburn ever kept you from your workout?
How many miles did you run in April?
It's been so long since I've done stand up paddle. I need to let go of the illusion my child will join me in it again and leave her home :-) :-) I can't believe she doesn't love it but she doesn't. It's too wobbly for her :-)
ReplyDeleteOh no! Maybe one day she will ask to join you. We love going out as a family when we're all together in the summer.
DeleteOh wow! I did SUP in FL over the Christmas holidays and sunburned feet never occurred to me. Yowza! How crazy/great the sunglasses washed up for you to find. That'd be such a bummer to lose them.
ReplyDeleteI guess it's important to reapply sunscreen to the feet while SUPing. Plus it was the first real sunshine my feet had seen outside of running and hiking shoes!
DeleteOh the sunburn looks painful! I've never done SUP paddleboarding but it looks so fun Great job with your runs!
ReplyDeleteIf you get a chance to try it, you definitely should! I did it first in a cove where the water wasn't very deep. I'm slowly getting braver!
DeleteI sunburned my feet one summer and it was by far the most painful sunburn I've ever had. My feet were puffy. And painful.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not an ideal place for a sunburn. My shoe choices have been limited ;)
DeleteYay for your knee getting stronger! That sunburns looks painful - ouch!
ReplyDeleteJust when I was thinking my running days were over because of it. Just proves that patience pays off! Would love the chance to run a 5k with you again someday Michelle!
DeleteOUCH!!! that sunburn looks painful (but I love your toe polish :) )
ReplyDeleteI don't count in miles but in KM - I think my total was around 62. In miles that would be around 38 if I googled in correctly!
Haha, thanks! It's an OPI polish and goes well with the sunburn ;) Nice KMs for you too. Looks like we had nearly the same running this month!
DeleteI have got to try SUP this summer! I can't believe I still haven't gotten around to it. Congrats on being able to increase your mileage in April. I ended up with 100. That's my first triple digit month since December. It is amazing mrC found his sunglasses the next day! Mine recently survived a trip through my bicycle spokes. Thanks for linking with us Amy!
ReplyDelete100 miles is so awesome! I might have hit 100 in a month once, a long time ago ;) Hope your May miles are just as awesome!
