I'm not Wearing Anything Else on my Wrist!

Last week I received a 1BandID to try out. I don't often run alone, but when I do I think about what would happen if I got injured or became ill. How would my family be contacted? I can carry my phone with me in a wrist band, but sometimes I'd rather run "lighter" especially as the warm weather arrives.

The 1BandID is a customized identification band that can be worn on your watch or your shoes. The band can hold up to 6 lines of 20 characters per line. Most people include their "in case of emergency" contacts and any allergies they might have, but there is also room for a motivational message.

The great thing about the 1BandID is that it wraps right around your current watch band and attaches securely using Velcro. It's that simple. You don't have to do anything to your gear to use it.

It doesn't interfere with wearing my watch the same way I always have. Other than the super cool purple standing out against the black, it's hard to notice it's even there. This ID will not be coming off my watch anytime soon.

Joe, the brains behind 1BandID, is an athlete who used to forget to wear his separate ID bracelet or tags. So, he decided to simplify safety by designing a band that could securely attach to the gear that athletes already wear every time they head out the door.

1BandID would like to give TWO Running Escapades readers a customized 1BandID. Simply use Rafflecopter below to enter. Giveaway ends Thursday May 30. Winner will be announced on the blog Friday May 31.

  1. I do actually have a watch id, but I find the Velcro scratchy. Hope to improve it so I'm not irritated.

  7. thank you for sharing. This looks like an awesome item. All of your important contact info in case of an emergency without having to strap on another added item on the wrist like I currently do.

  13. I usually have my drivers license in a pocket, but sometimes (eek) I've run out of the house without it :(

  14. This is pretty cool! I have a Road ID and love it, but definitely lose track of it and find myself hunting around before my run. I see the benefit of just strapping something to your watch!

  21. What a great alternative product to road id. I don't carry id when I run, and I usually run alone. Nothing to say though that they ship to Australia.

  25. Hi. I'm sorry to hear you haven't had a good experience with a competitive product. I originally designed 1BandID with a nylon coating to keep it smooth next to the skin. Good luck in the drawing. I'm sure you will have a beter experience with 1BandID.

  29. your running. stop being a pussy. If somthing sketchy happens run faster, if you feel like your about to pass out stop running. To be honest even carrying an ID card is just another way for police to screw you for running next to a crosswalk. stay nameless.
