Weekly Workout Recap

Is it a bad week if nothing super exciting happened? That's how I feel about last week's workouts. I think I'm beginning to miss the days of training for something. I'm starting another carb cycling program soon, so maybe that will give me the focus that I'm lacking right now.

Here's a look at the randomness of last week:

Monday - No workout because I went to my first laser hair removal treatment which means no sweating for 48 hours. It was my first treatment and WOW! It does hurt, but in a different way. My friends told me it would feel like getting snapped by a rubber band ---> one that never stops. Fortunately the session went quickly and the doctor was very nice.

Tuesday - No sweating today so I did an at home nice and easy yoga with Adriene video. Perfect workout for my post laser treatment and it felt good too.

These are still my favorite yoga pants...SO SOFT!

Wednesday - Let the sweating begin...awesome run and then SUP afterwards.

Thursday - I had a meeting to officially become co-coordinator for the American Women's Club's Hong Kong Hosts program. I'm excited to volunteer my time and support our troops.

Friday - I was scheduled to take a new class at The HIT Room called LBT Circuit, but I didn't go because I was feeling nauseous (I think it might have been gluten related). I ended up taking a pretty big nap, so my body must have needed the rest.

Saturday - I was feeling better so I did my longer run for the week. It was a hard one, my energy tank was empty and left me on the struggle bus for most of the run. I pushed as hard as I could and finished with 4.55 miles including the two big hills in our neighborhood. Even hard runs make me smile.

Love how easy it is to wear my Wearsafe!

Sunday - We were out late on the Party Tram (I'm going to post about this later today), so it was nice to enjoy a lazy day with mrC.

PS - Use code RUNNINGESCAPADES to get 15% off annual subscription to your own Wearsafe.

  1. I need laser hair removal but I'd be there forever! I swear, the older I get, the more hair that pops up in weird places. Sigh....

I do love me a good hard run...

    1. Haha, I know what you mean. I choose the two places that grow back the fastest!

  2. I have a pretty high pain tolerance, but don't know if I could do the laser hair removal (or tattooing). If I could be put under, that would be another story LOL

    1. I don't know what a tattoo feels like, but I'm guessing a lot worse! haha!

  3. I've never looked into laser hair removal. Is that a face thing? Bikini area? Arms and legs?
So exciting that you are part of the Women's club! That sounds like a great thing to be involved in. Did you move to Hong Kong because mrC is in the Military?

    1. It can be done pretty much anywhere you have hair! I'm doing my underarms and bikini area. We moved here for his job, but will return to the US eventually.

  4. I have never done laser hair removal! I've gotten a brazillian wax before though, does that count for anything hahahaha!

I sweat just getting my workout clothes on so all workouts are sweaty. I sweat walking up the stairs, doing the dishes, cleaning the toilet. I'm a sweat machine. That would have been quite a challenge to not sweat for 48 hours!

    1. A brazilian wax sounds way more painful than laser! Eek! It is hard to avoid sweating here at this time of year, so I made my appointment for first thing in the morning and then used public transport if I had to go out anywhere (I usually walk) and I avoided all cleaning duties, haha!

  5. I have to agree with Renee - I don't know that I could manage no sweat for 48 hrs! How often do you have to do the laser treatments?

    1. Haha, it wasn't that bad. The hard part was not working out! Treatments are once every 4 weeks and it normally takes about 5 or 6 treatments.

  6. Laser hair removal sounds painful - I hope it turns out wonderfully in the end though.

    1. The good news is that it only hurts as long as there is hair, so each treatment gets less and less painful! My friends have told me it is worth it ;)

  7. I LOVE the Yoga with Adriene videos! It's so nice to turn on Youtube (tablet or on the tv) and pick a specific yoga sequence to follow. My two year old daughter tries to do it too!
